Common Courtesy

If there is one thing in life that I consider important among society and interaction with other human beings its being polite, having some ettiquette.

I absolutley cannot stand it when someone is impolite. It is my biggest pet peeve in the entire world of pet peeves. It amazes me how much in today's society that hardly anyone has any manners whatesoever.

No one ever says excuse me, holds doors for people, says thank you, or goes out of their way to be nice or polite. It really is quite sad.

Here, people are friendly, but not always polite. It has decreased in the last year that I've been here, at least that I've noticed. Not to mention the people that think its okay to take up the entire sidewalk and then just stop in the middle of the sidewalk to stare at something.

So. Annoying.

So, to everyone, please do your best to have some common courtsey. It really does go a long way.

Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Yes, I hate when people walk 2 abreast on the sidewalk, very slowly. And it's inexcusable for a person not to hold the door. I'll usually say, "Thanks for holding the door," if it's not someone who looks like they would beat me up or shoot me.

Completely agree. While, judging from your post, it seems that politeness is more common down here, because I rarely encounter impolite people, it is VERY annoying.

I agree, Caroline. It's so rare for people to be courteous anymore that it does take me aback a little when it happens.
