How I Met Steven

I meant to post this after I saw Jen's comment on requesting me telling the story about how Steven and I met, but I got caught up in my moment of glory of getting a new job. Yay to that.

I know that I gave Feather a condensed version, but I will now tell the actual story. I will also do my best not to make it too long!! I tend to do that sometimes. It's a sign to you all that I talk too much most of the time!!

Anyway, here goes.

I met Steven in April, it was chilly, cloudy and windy outside and I was on my way to a job interview. I remember being a bit annoyed that day because my black pant suit that I always wear to interviews was at the cleaners and I had to wear this baby blue blazer that has a colored tweed pattern on it and these dorky black pants that I have. But I did have my good shoes on so that made me feel better!

After checking in with the receptionist I sat down and he walked in. I immediately thought to myself "great this guy has more experience than me. " The position was for an admission's rep at an interior design/art school. After these other two girls walked in we all started talking, then the person that was conducting the interview told all of us that it was going to be a group interview. Meaning, we were all in the room at the same time. After the interview, I was the last one to walk out and Steven was outside of the building talking on his cellphone and he got off and asked me what I thought of the interview. We talked for a few minutes and then he asked me if I'd like to go to lunch with him. We went to lunch and talked a lot, I enjoyed hearing him talk with his southern accent, hehe. He had just moved the month before to Chicago and so we talked a lot about the city, and about New Orleans.

Then after lunch we said goodbye and had that awkward pause which I broke by saying "well, I'm going to go and catch the bus across the street." He didn't ask me for my phone number, we just went our seperate ways. I thought, well, I'll never see him again.

Well, about three weeks later I was out with Lauren at this bar/restaurant and after ordering a drink, I look up to see him walking into the bar. I couldn't believe it.

We talked for a few minutes, I met some of his friends, and I'd check in once in a while with him since I was out with Lauren. Lauren and I ended up leaving the bar to go someplace else, but Steven and I exchanged numbers and then he called me a few days later.

At the time I was still in the process of getting over Matt, and I had gone out with this one guy who I met a long time ago but he turned out to be a total jerk. I thought at first that I wasn't interested in Steven because he was totally different than most of the guys that I had dated in the past.

But we talked on the phone almost every day, we went out a few times, and one night when we out to dinner I realized that I had stronger feelings for him than just friendship. After that he told me how he felt, and we decided to just date each other.

The rest is history...And that my friends is the story of how Steven and I met and got together.

So, you never know where you'll meet someone special!! :-)

Wow...such a neat story! It reminds me of the movie Serendipity--it was like fate with you two. Not many people have that cool of a story--you're lucky!

I'm glad to hear you got a job! Those shoes are so cute, by the way! I really like the Nine West boots!
