Job Fiasco/Update
I haven't updated at all on my job status because I wanted to wait until I had some good news. Well, that is somewhat come to an end, but at this point I'm looking for some plain old professional advice from my daily readers. I've recieved 3 offers from 3 different companies, and so far I've crossed 2 off my list. But one job I've got a sticky situation which I'm about to explain and need some professional feedback/advice on. Here goes...
Career Builder is owned by the Chicago Tribune, but works with other newspapers, such as Newsday and L.A. Times. I'd basically be selling online and print ads to companies who want to post jobs online, and access to a huge resume database. I'd get a decent base salary, good commission, and a week of training. Oh and my health benefits would start right away. I've heard mixed things from people who have worked there though. But the people seem really nice, and have a lot of what I'm looking for.
They have 3 offices in Chicago. One is out near the airport, and 2 are downtown. I interviewed at one downtown office but the manager and the recruiter never got back to me with an answer. Then I get a call from a manager from the O'Hare office, I tell him that I interviewed downtown but that no one ever got back to me, and I was still interested in the position. So, I go out there for interview #1, and they ask me to come back for another meeting. I agree to it.
Then out of the woodwork comes the recruiter who had me interview for the downtown location, who never bothered to call me back, or let me know what the manager had decided. She then tells me that the group that I'd be working with in that office is full. So basically that was a total waste of my time. But then she tells me that they are hiring in another downtown location. I tell her about the O'Hare interview, and she gets all blech about it because I said that I only wanted to work downtown. Well, I tell her that I thought about it, and decided that it would be best to keep my options open. So I agree to go on the interview for downtown location #2. Then this morning I get a call from the hiring manager at the O'Hare location offering me the position.
Before I've gone on the interview downtown. I tell them that I need to think about it, and they tell me to let them know by Friday morning. So, I go downtown and meet with this other manager, and he tells me at the end that he's got a few more interviews and that he'll have a decision made by the end of next week.
This my friends is a problem. Why? Because I have to call the people at O'Hare by Friday morning with an answer. My parents think that I should call the recruiter tommorrow and tell her that I received an offer from the O'Hare office, but I'd prefer to work downtown, is there any way that you could get me an answer by then so that I can call these people back and let them know. I don't like putting that kind of pressure on people, but seriously, its the recruiters job to help you out in times like this.
So this sucks and I don't know what to do.

It depends how badly you need the job and how bad the commute to O'Hare would be. If I were desperate and the O'Hare trip wasn't that bad I'd go ahead and take that, but if that's not the case I'd take your parents' advice and call downtown. What's the worst they could say? If they say no, take O'Hare. If they say screw you, we don't want your pushy ass (although I don't think that's pushy at all), take O'Hare. Right now you have the ball in your court, which is always good. If they want you badly enough, they'll say yes and then you'll have a choice.
