I'm Still Alive!

Hey all, sorry that its been so long since I last posted. I went to NY for a week and just got back last night.

My parents decided to make it a road trip so we drove which took about 12 hours. The only part of the drive that is boring is driving through Ohio. I seriously think that Ohio is the longest state in the world to drive through. Not to mention that its flat like Indiana and Illinois. Pennsylvania on the other hand is very pretty, and not flat. I liked driving through there.

On the way there we stopped in Pennington, NJ, which is right near Princeton. My parents have some friends that live there. We walked around Princeton, very beautiful town. The university of course is too.

Then we headed for good ol' Long Island. My mom's sister and her family belong to a beach club so we spent a day there, it was my first time at the beach this summer. It was soo nice. Monday we headed to the Hamptom's, my mom's brother and his family have a house there. They recently added an extentsion and did a ton of re-decorating so the house looked totally different. That was fun too, despite my 7 yr-old twin boy cousin's who are cute at first and then get REALLY annoying. They are just at that age I guess.

Wednesday I got to spend the day in the city with my sister, it was great to be in NYC in the summertime. We walked around the Village, and at night we went out to this really nice Italian restaurant with one of her friends.

Now I am back home in Chicago and I start my new job on Monday. I'm both excited and scared. I think that it will be fine though. I'll just have to get used to the commute and spending the whole day on the phone.

Well, more to come soon. If you don't hear from me for another week its because I'm exhausted from my hour long commute.

Hour long commute each way, or total?

Wow, 1 hour each way IS quite a long commute! Do you get to read much?

Wow, good luck with your new job. Maybe your iPod will come in handy with the commute. I've never been to Long Island, but I'd like to live up that way after I graduate. You're so lucky!

Thanks for the comment on my blog about my aunt. Funny that Steven's mom and grandmother remind you of her...maybe it's the "old southern way" that some ladies still are...

Yeah, maybe I'll rethink the Long Island thing. I'm thinking of Short Hills, New Jersey where my cousins used to live...it's a beautiful place and not far from NYC.

By the way, I've been thinking of you--I saw the fire on the Chicago subway on the news yesterday. Are you okay? I was worried you may have been on one (I worry about everything like that).
