I Guess There Is a First Time for Everything

I have done, accomplished, achieved, and experienced many things in my life. Some have been triumphant, and some have been just flat out bad.

However, last night, for the first time in the 24 years of my life, I did something that I've never done before, and that might seem out of character for me. Those who know me very well might agree...

I went out to dinner w/Lauren and we went to this Japanese place that we had been to once before and we both liked it. So, we sit down a waitress comes over, asks us if we would like something to drink. She brings us our drinks, and decides to give us some more time to look over the menu.

Well, usually the they come back in like 5 miuntes. This girl kept us waiting for about 10-15 minutes, and the restuarant wasn't that busy.

So, she finally comes back, takes our order, and then brings me the wrong order. It's one thing to bring the wrong order, but she brought me something that wasn't even on the menu.

I then had to wait for my real order, and then once I got it I was starving and annoyed. Plus, Lauren's food got alittle cold b/c she wanted to wait until I got my food to eat. So after eating a few bites, I made my decision:
I asked for a manager.

The manager came over, and he was very nice. I told him what happened and that I've worked in customer service for 2 years and that this was unacceptable to me. He agreed. I was very nice to the guy, and hoped that this girl wouldn't get fired for this. Who knows if it was her first time screwing up.

Then the waitress brings over the bill and tells that due to her mistakes that she wasn't going to charge us for a meal. I think that she thought just my meal, but when Lauren and I looked at the bill, we didn't owe anything!

The manager then came back over and said that he didn't know why she brought us the bill b/c he had taken care of it.

It was nice getting a free meal, but I don't think that I'll be going back to that place anytime soon....

The night was then followed by me getting a Drumstick ice cream cone at CVS, and b/c Lauren and I spent alittle bit of time in the make-up aisle, it melted alittle bit. So once I got outiside I opened it up, started eating and it and it just dripped everywhere.

Lauren then insists on walking into a restaurant and asking for a napkin. But people just looked at us like we were freaks. So we end up going to Subway and she runs inside to ask for some napkins, and I'm left standing outside looking like an ass. This guy eating at a table near the window sees me and starts laughing, then comes out and hands me a napkin.

I felt so silly. Yet I was laughing.

It was definitley an entertaining night to say the least! Something funny always happens when me and Lauren are together. I guess thats why we've stayed friends for so long. :-)

Tonight my friend and I were talking about this same thing, crappy service. We went to eat @ a Mexican restaurant, and the waiter/server wasn't TOO bad, but a week earlier, I went to the same restaurant but a different location and the waitress SUCKED! I ordered my drink, and my friend ordered his. She came back and they were completely switched! So, I tell her, and she tells me that SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT DRINKS WE ORDERED! Then, she says she got it "BASS AKWARDS"...haha. THEN, to top it off, she brings me back a glass with salt on it, and I HAVE TO POUR MY DRINK into it! I don't work in the food industry, but shouldn't she have taken me drink back to the bar? Needless to say, I'm not going back there ever again. I didn't ask for the manager, but I sure should have. Oh well, good lesson learned!
